Renewable Energy Project
About the Project
This project aims to bring clean, affordable energy to Kwamaiko. We distribute and install solar lamp kits to households, enabling children to study after dark and allowing businesses to operate longer.
For larger community hubs, we are piloting the installation of full solar panel systems to power health clinics and schools, ensuring uninterrupted services.
Our Goals
- Distribute 1,000 solar lamps to off-grid households.
- Power 5 community centers with full solar installations.
- Reduce community reliance on kerosene and firewood.
Key Outcomes
- 400+ solar lamps have been distributed, improving study conditions for children.
- Successfully installed a solar system at the main community health clinic.
- Participants report saving an average of $5 per month on lighting costs.
